I ask myself why I feel so awkward posting this first blog. Is it a mid-life crisis thing? Is it a sense of inferiority (Why would anybody want to read this rubbish)?Is it a feeling that anything you put into any form of print should have a purpose?
First – honesty. The main reason I am sending this out into the ether is that it is a requirement of a “Teaching and Learning Methods and Media” course I am enrolled in at Swinburne University.
The concept of a blog is great – with the proviso that I feel that you need to have a clear purpose or passion in writing one. If you are trying to record the progress of something challenging you are involved in , are taking part in a world event (wittingly or unwittingly) that you feel needs a personal perspective or have something important to say then I say blog on.
Pathetically at the moment this is not the case. As I progress throughout this unit I hope to overcome this initial scruples.
My opening thoughts are what can be achieved by this blog which could not be achieved by a discussion board among the students enrolled?
I shall go and ponder these thoughts…
